Contamination Assessments are usually performed on sites that have been impacted by a range of
contaminants including: petroleum products, hazardous waste, pesticides, PCBs or metals. The
purpose of a contamination assessment is to determine the extent of groundwater and/or soil
contamination at a study site. A Contamination Assessment report typically includes a site plan,
description of procedures, a summary of the test results (which are compared to established state
guidelines), and conclusions and recommendations.
