The first step in an Indoor Air Quality evaluation is the performance of a Baseline Study. During the
study, tenants complaining of symptoms or odors are interviewed and asked to complete a
questionnaire. This information is utilized by LandScience to determine the possible cause(s) of the
problem and the location within the building of concern. With this information, the LandScience
representative is able to determine the best areas in the building to conduct inspections and air
quality testing.
Once potential sources of contaminants are identified, the LandScience representative utilize the
latest sampling and analytical equipment to determine the levels of contaminants that are causing
the indoor air quality problems. Common contaminants that LandScience test for include carbon
monoxide, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), formaldehyde, fungal spores, and particulates.
